Celtics And Mavericks Set To Face Off In Game 5 Of Nba Finals

Celtics and Mavericks Set to Face Off in Game 5 of NBA Finals

Boston's Depth Vs. Dallas's Duo

The Dallas Mavericks are heading back to TD Garden to face the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals on Monday evening. The Celtics took a 3-1 lead in the series after a dominant 122-84 victory in Game 4.

Boston's depth proved too much for Dallas in Game 4, as they had six players score in double figures. Meanwhile, the Mavericks' dynamic duo of Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving struggled to make an impact, combining for just 33 points on 12-of-36 shooting.

Porzingis' Return Uncertain

Could Swing Game 5

The big question heading into Game 5 is whether Kristaps Porzingis will be able to play. The Latvian big man has been battling a right knee injury and missed the first four games of the series. If he is able to return, it would give the Mavericks a much-needed boost inside.

However, even if Porzingis does play, it is unclear how effective he will be. He has not played in a game since May 15th and could be rusty. Additionally, the Celtics have been able to neutralize Dallas's big men in the series, so even if Porzingis plays, it is not guaranteed that he will have a major impact.
