Edmonton Oilers have been the better team in this series at five-on-five
The Edmonton Oilers have taken a 1-0 lead over the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Semifinals after defeating them 4-2 in Game 1 on Wednesday night.
The Oilers were led by Connor McDavid, who had a goal and an assist. Leon Draisaitl also had a goal and an assist, while Evan Bouchard and Zach Hyman each added a goal.
The Stars got goals from Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Oilers' high-powered offense.
The Oilers outshot the Stars 36-29 and had a 20-15 advantage in scoring chances.
Game 2 of the series will be played on Friday night in Edmonton.
